
Benjamin (Ben) S. Proto Jr. was born and raised in Connecticut and has been living in Stratford since 1986, where his practice is located. Before starting his own practice in 2003, Ben served as Counsel and Chief Counsel to the Connecticut House Republican Caucus and served as an Attorney with the Office of Consumer Counsel of the State of Connecticut.
Education:
- Ben graduated in 1981 from New Hampshire College, now known as Southern New Hampshire University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Economics and Finance. He graduated from New York Law School in 1985 and was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 1986.
Experience:
- Ben has worked on numerous land use projects, from seeking variances for a pool or deck addition to major developments, including large multi-family residential and mixed-use projects, industrial and commercial projects, and recently getting unanimous approval for a cannabis micro grower facility, as well as receiving approvals for the largest multi-use waterfront development in Stratford. Ben has represented Cumberland Farms, Inc. before numerous land use boards and commissions in Connecticut, securing approval of each application for a new or refurbished site.Ben is currently working with a variety of clients on land-use matters in the greater Stratford, CT, area.
